Help and Accessibility |
IntroductionThis site has been designed to be simple and easy to use and should require very little additional help. However, here is some extra information you might find useful. AccessibilityWe strive to follow the spirit of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) 2005 with respect to the provision of services online. This site has been designed to comply with current standards of accessibility, as specified by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. All of our pages meet Level A requirements and the majority of Level AA and AAA requirements are also met. Changing font sizesYou can change the text size on this application by clicking on the "cog" icon at the top right of the screen. Then use the +/- icons to change the text size. Alternatively, you can use your browser text size settings. Some browsers will allow you to magnify the whole page. To change the text size, follow the instructions below: Internet Explorer
Firefox
Safari
Printing PagesPages will print out differently to the way they appear on screen. This is intentional to minimise paper use by maximising the width of paper used for the main content of each page. Help with PDFsOpening PDFs Some information on this site is made available in PDF (Portable Document Format). This is a widely used format, which enables application forms and other documents to be supplied to you in their original layout, thereby ensuring that the integrity of the document is preserved. PDF files can be opened, viewed and printed on any PC if you have the Adobe Acrobat Reader installed. If you don’t already have this, you can Download the free Adobe reader here. Note: You cannot edit a PDF unless you have a full version of Adobe Acrobat.
Accessibility of PDFsPDFs may not be easily accessible to users who require assistive technologies, such as text readers. So Adobe has developed a method of converting PDF documents into HTML (normal web pages). To do this, you will need to copy the URL (web address) of the PDF document, which appears in the web browser address bar when it is selected. This will look something like www.ieaghg.org/resources/document.pdf. Then visit the document conversion page on the Adobe Website and paste the URL into the form on this page. The page will then convert the PDF into HTML format, which should then be accessible with assistive technologies. For more information about accessibility of PDF and other Adobe products visit http://www.adobe.com/accessibility/index.html Help with Microsoft Word documentsIf you don’t have Word, you can still view the documents by downloading Microsoft's free Word Viewer but you won’t be able to edit them with this.
Help with PowerPoint documentsIf you don't have PowerPoint, you can still view the documents by downloading Microsoft's free PowerPoint Viewer, but you won't be able to edit them with this. Help with Zip filesSome larger files may be available as Zip files. You will need a utility to open Zip files. Recent versions of Windows are able to unpack ZIP files, but if you not you can download a free ZIP package here. |
